Missouri Scholars is a wonderful place…..most of the time. Losing your keycard and locking yourself out of the room is the single worst thing a scholar can do other than LLAMA. As someone who has forgotten his keycard many times I will describe how I handle the situation in four easy steps.
Step 1: Lose your Keycard.
Losing your keycard is step one, either leaving your wallet in your room, in between the lounge couch cushions, gambled it in a game of poker, dropping it in a drain, thinking it could fly, or just plain losing the keycard is the way to do it.
Step 2: Break in
You have lost your keycard but you are just way too shy to ask your roommate or the front desk to let you into your room. What is the next viable option? Well, breaking in of course! Just remember to grab your ax that you packed to scholars…….oh…….that’s in the room.
Step 2.1: Find your Roommate
You have left your keycard in your room and need a way in. One of the best ways is to find your roommate and the best way to check where they are would be to check the sign out board. So check the board and find out your roommate went to the Student Center without signing out and you wouldn’t learn where they went for the rest of the day.
Step 3: Confess
You are mad, angry even, very upset as some people might describe. The next logical thing to do is for you to pick yourself up and ask the front desk to let you in. It is very unfortunate that the circumstances led you to choose this nuclear option.
Step 4: Success
Finally you have gotten inside your room and you now have your card so you won’t get locked out again (hopefully). You have earned a treat so when dinner comes around get all the ice cream you want, no one can tell you otherwise.
